1月半ばより当社でインターンをしていたサビアーナが、本日無事に12週間のインターン期間を終了しました。

日本語、イタリア語、英語の翻訳業務ができる素晴らしく優秀なインターン生でした。

当社のお仕事やプライベートでお世話になった方々へ、心よりお礼申し上げます。

ローマに戻っても日本語を使うお仕事ができるといいですね。

My name is Saviana, I’m 25. I came to Fukuoka from Italy in January, to do an internship at MizuTrans Corporation, a company that deals with tour operating and translations. It’s a quite recent company, since it was founded in 2015, but the director and vice director has many years of experience, so that it has been asked them many times to put their experience at other people’s disposal in seminaries. Seminaries in which I had the pleasure to take part too.

I found out about the company by a pamphlet I received by the agency that supported me during my journey and I immediately found it interesting.

 

I was so nervous before the first meeting. But after that, everything went just fine. I found a warm environment, kind people who made me feel accepted and gave me a high motivation to work hard.

I had various tasks, for example I had to translate pamphlets from Japanese to English or questionnaires from English to Japanese and create leaflet to promote some tours. During conferences, I had to help setting the room and act as a supporter, I also had to support during trial tours and do some office work, like recording the business cards, setting up some documents and archiving the company receipts by date and payment method. Moreover, as MizuTrans corporation’s aim is to promote tourism in Kyushu region, among Japanese and foreign people, as a foreign internship I had to give a feedback about the tour organization modes and help the English-speaking guides. I also took part in workshops in which tour operators had to elaborate ways to communicate with foreign tourists when there is no enough competence in English speaking.

Thanks to my internship, I could see with my own eyes how the Japanese working environment works and I also had the chance to be part of it. I improved my English, my Japanese and my communication skills, I learned a lot about Japanese culture, many things that you can’t find in books in University. For example, I could stay in a Buddhist temple and witness some rites and ceremonies that are performed in there every day, I learned the real, deep meaning of the word “itadakimasu”, I learned how to make traditional sweets or miso soup. My job did not consist only in staying in the office, so I had the chance to see many places and have a lot of experiences, like going on a boat in Yanagawa. Now I can also write in Japanese at the laptop without too much struggle and I know many useful apps that I did not know, like translation or business card recording apps.

 

My stay was very pleasant, everyone was nice to me and I felt like I was in a family, when I had a problem the director and vice director were always ready to help me and made me feel more than just an intern.

 

Now my experience has unfortunately come to an end, but I will certainly cherish it.

Mi chiamo Saviana e ho 25 anni. Sono arrivata a Fukuoka dall’Italia per intraprendere un internship presso la MizuTrans Corporation, una agenzia che opera nel campo del tour operating e della traduzione. Si tratta di una agenzia piuttosto giovane, poiché è stata fondata nel 2015, ma la direttrice e il vicedirettore hanno molti anni di esperienza alle spalle, tanto che è stato loro chiesto più volte di mettere tale esperienza a disposizione di altri tramite seminari, ai quali ho avuto anche io il piacere di partecipare.

Ho scoperto l’agenzia tramite un opuscolo fornitomi dall’agenzia italiana che si è occupata del mio viaggio e l’ho trovata subito interessante.

 

Ero molto nervosa il giorno del primo colloquio. Ma dopo quello, tutto è andato benissimo. Ho trovato un ambiente caloroso, persone gentili che mi hanno fatto sentire accettata e mi hanno motivata a lavorare sodo.

Ho avuto diversi compiti, ad esempio ho dovuto tradurre degli opuscoli dal giapponese all’inglese, tradurre dei questionari dall’inglese al giapponese e creare dei volantini per descrivere e promuovere dei tour. Durante le conferenze mi occupavo di preparare l’aula e fare da supporto, ho fatto da supporto anche durante dei tour di prova e ho sbrigato lavori d’ufficio, come registrare i biglietti da visita, creare documenti e archiviare le ricevute delle spese dell’agenzia per data e metodo di pagamento.

 

Inoltre, dato che la MizuTrans Corporation ha l’obiettivo di promuovere il turismo nella regione del Kyushu sia tra I giapponesi che tra gli stranieri, in quanto internship straniera ho anche dato dei feedback riguardo le modalità di organizzazione dei tour e aiutare le guide anglofone. Ho anche preso parte ad alcuni workshop nei quali gli organizzatori dei tour dovevano escogitare modi di comunicare con i turisti stranieri in caso di mancata competenza nell’inglese.

Grazie al mio internship, ho potuto vedere con i miei occhi come funziona l’ambiente lavorativo giapponese e ho avuto anche la possibilità di farne parte. Ho migliorato il mio inglese, il mio giapponese e le mie capacità comunicative. Ho imparato molto circa la cultura giapponese, molte cose che non si trovano nei libri in università. Per esempio ho potuto soggiornare in un tempio buddhista e assistere a riti e cerimonie che vengono praticati lì ogni giorno, ho imparato il vero, profondo significato dell’espressione “itadakimasu”, ho imparato a preparare dolci tradizionali e la zuppa di miso.

 

Il mio lavoro non consisteva solo nello stare in ufficio, ho avuto modo di vedere molti posti e vivere diverse esperienze, come andare in barca a Yanagawa. Ora riesco anche a scrivere in giapponese al computer senza troppi problemi e ora so usare diverse app per smartphone molto utili e che non conoscevo, come app per tradurre e per registrare i biglietti da visita.

La mia permanenza è stata molto piacevole, tutti sono stati gentili con me e mi sono sentita come in una famiglia, quando avevo un problema la direttrice e il vicedirettore erano sempre pronti ad aiutarmi e mi hanno fatto sentire più di una semplice intern.

 

Ora purtroppo la mia esperienza è giunta al termine, ma la terrò di certo sempre cara.
