太宰府天満宮にてガイド実地研修会　Training Session at Dazaifu Tenman-gū

1月23日、小雪ちらつくとても寒い日でしたが、主に今年度通訳案内士試験に合格された方々が、最初の仕事の場所になるであろう太宰府天満宮にて研修いたしました。

バスの中では、実際にマイクを使った自己紹介や英語の発音チェック。　インターンのジェニファーは、外国人観光客の役を見事に演じてくれて、さらに、英語の話し方やマイクの使い方について、とっても有益なアドバイスをくれました。

午後は、これまたジェニファーからの日本事象に関する質問をみんなで考え、実際に英語で回答するというなかなか有意義な講習会になったと思います。また今後も継続的に実施していきますので、興味のある方はお問い合わせください。

Gestern hatte ich die Chance bei einer Trainings Session von Mizu Trans für angehende Tourguides mitzuwirken. Die vier Teilnehmerinnen hatten vor Kurzem ihre staatliche Prüfung bestanden und wollen nun Praxisluft schnuppern. Also ging es mit mir als Versuchskaninchen zum Dazaifu Tenman-gū (Schrein) südöstlich von Fukuoka City. Es ging u.a. darum, mir als „Test-Tourist“ sowohl den Ort, als auch verschiedene Elemente der japanischen Kultur näher zu bringen und dabei das eigene Auftreten zu üben und mit möglichen Fragen der Touristen umzugehen.

Der Dazaifu Schrein wurde 905 errichtet und ist dem zur Gottheit „Tenjin“ erhobenen Sugawara no Michizane gewidmet, der einer der berühmtesten Gelehrten der Heian Zeit war und im Exil in Dazaifu starb. Tenjin gilt als Patron der Wissenschaft, weswegen viele Schüler, Studenten und deren Eltern zum Schrein kommen, um dort für Erfolg in Schule und Studium zu bitten.

Yesterday I had the chance to assist in a training session of Mizu Trans for prospective tourist guides. The four participants just passed their state examination and now want to get an idea of the practical aspects of the business. So we headed with me as guinea pig to the Dazaifu Tenman-gū (shrine) in the southeast of Fukuoka City. It was about explaining to me as a „test tourist“ both the location, as well as various aspects of japanese culture and practicing the own appearance and how to deal with potential questions from tourists.

The Dazaifu Shrine was built in 905 and is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, who was one of the most famous scholars of the Heian period, died in exile in Dazaifu and later deified as god „Tenjin“. Since he is seen as a patron of scholarship, it’s very popular amongst students and their parents to visit the shrine and pray for success at school and university.
